The Barossa Valley is better known for its bold reds than its whites, but those who look a little closer know the truth: this valley also hides pockets of white gold. Fiano has quietly found its footing here, and with Lucius, we offer our take; bright, detailed, and pure.

    Background Spiel

The Barossa Valley may be famed for its powerful reds, yet hidden among its sunlit ridges are sites capable of producing whites of remarkable character and finesse. Lucius is our expression of Fiano from a single vineyard just south of Tanunda — bright, textural and quietly confident.

Named after the curious figure from Roman satire who sought truth through transformation and misadventure, Lucius reflects a wine of clarity and composure. Where Riesling might be seen as the Empress — poised, sensual and commanding — Lucius stands as its masculine counterpart: structured, luminous and self-assured.

Grown above the North Para River on sun-drenched soils, this wine captures the nobility of Fiano in the Barossa; layered with citrus, orchard fruit and savoury detail, balanced by natural texture and mineral drive. A thoughtful and distinctive white that speaks softly, but with conviction.
