Albert Shiraz is named after Kym Teusner's Grandfather, Albert Alfred Teusner …a man admired for his commitment and his persistence. The Albert Shiraz is made from parcels of fruit sourced from a couple of our favourite vineyards… an old block at Ebenezer in the Barossa’s North and another in the Barossa’s Far North at Koonunga.

2023 Teusner Albert Shiraz

95 Points - The Wine Front

"There’s a bit of wow factor on offer here. The fruit is so ripe, and has such great spread, and is so well meshed with spiced cedarwood oak, and it keeps its momentum going as a net of fine-grained tannin flings out through the back half of the wine. This is a moody, dark, film noir expression of shiraz with deep shadows, bright bursts of violet and an outstretched finish. It’s destined to age superbly." - Campbell Mattinson - Feb '26

2022 Teusner Albert Shiraz

95 Points - Halliday Wine Companion

"100% shiraz from Koonunga and Ebenezer, matured 24 months in French oak, 50% new. Classic Barossa here. Ironstone-flecked blackberry, satsuma plum and black cherry fruits, fruitcake spice, licorice, dark chocolate, turned earth, choc-mint and pan juices. Plush with melt-in-the-mouth tannins and a twang of citrus acidity on the back end." - Dave Brookes

The Weekend Australian Magazine – Top 100 Wines of 2023

“Barossa Valley Shiraz doesn’t come much better than this. The vintage was perfect, but few nailed the opportunity as well as winemakers Kym Teusner and Javier Moll. The Silky elegance and balance are coupled with purity and freshness in a manner seldom seen.”

    2023 VINTAGE

"Albert Shiraz is named after my Grandfather, Albert Alfred Teusner …a man admired for his commitment and his persistence. The 2022 Albert Shiraz is made from parcels of fruit sourced from a couple of our favourite old vine vineyards.

The old vineyards produce small yields of amazing concentrated fruit flavour, with soft, supple and velvety tannins that set them apart from the younger stuff. Plenty of blackberry, black satsuma plum, black cherry and cassis with great intensity and length. I’m fairly confident in saying this is one of our best Alberts yet.”
